I was skeptical about magnetic weight resistance before trying a Tonal demo. After trying it in a mall, I was a believer in the technology.

After doing a bunch of research on magnetic resistance machines for home, it came down to Tonal and Vitruvian for me. I ended up going with Vitruvian for these reasons:

Vitruvian can support max lift of 440lbs vs Tonal’s max of ~200lbs
Tonal has to be professionally mounted to wall studs. Vitruvian sits on the floor and requires no install.
Vitruvian weighs 65lbs, and has two wheels to easily lift and roll it around
Tonal seems to have better software UX, but Vitruvian seems to have better hardware.
Vitruvian retains all of its 300+ exercise library even if you stop paying for the subscription

I have only had the Vitruvian for a week so it is too early to give a full review, but thus far I am incredibly impressed with it.

metal seed phrase wallets

never store your seed phrase in a computer, phone, photo, or any digital interface. even for your hot wallet! use a method like this if you don’t want to trust in a piece of paper.

expensive and convenient (no hammering or engraving required)
- Billfodl, seems to be the highest quality ($100)
- KeyStone Metal Wallet ($60)
cheap and manual route
- more suitable for hot wallet seed phrases
- requires any metal engraver, I got a Dremel Rotary Tool ($24)
- steel wallet plates, currently 6 plates for $16

hardware wallet

Ledger Nano S Plus still seems like the easiest bet for the price, it’s compatible with Metamask, Phantom, Temple, and pretty much any browser extension wallet that exists (~$80)

conspiracies and unverified sightings you might see on r/UFOs were never interesting to me (fwiw, r/UAP seems good), but i am very curious about undiscovered tech that could change what we think is possible.

Somewhere along the line between college and my late 30s I became really interested in buying only the top quality kitchen products as I gradually threw out the cheap ones I accumulated in my 20s. These are the ones I really stand behind.

Duralex Mis en Place mini glass bowls, Made in France ($30)
- these Norpro Silicone pinch bowls are a nice kid-friendly alternative
OXO Squeeze and Pour Silicone Measuring Cups ($30)
- a bit expensive, but I really prefer them over glass pyrex liquid measuring cups
Matfer High-Temp Fish Spatula ($19)
- My go-to spatula for just about everything (we have two)!
OXO Salad Spinner ($30)
- Takes up precious cabinet space but is crucial for washing/drying fruit and vegetables
Electric Salt and Pepper Grinders ($32)
- I don’t love the quality of this product, but the convenience for cooking is unmatched. if you come across a higher quality version let me know.
Cuisipro Cheese Grater ($34)
- I don’t like grating cheese, but recognize it’s necessary sometimes. I was surprised at how much better the experience is with a high-quality grater.
Instant Vortex XL Air Fryer ($130)
- Substantially better than the cheap air fryer we started with.

the simplest narrative I have seen to explain tokens, nfts, and crypto:

web 1.0 was read-only
web 2.0 was read/write
web 3.0 is read/write/own

traditional web 2.0 platforms like reddit, twitter, facebook, and instagram own your friendships, messages, connections, ad views, and data. they provide use of their platform in return.

the next era of apps will use tokens to bootstrap new networks, giving users the ability to own their data and take it with them to whichever app or network best fits their needs. this is not possible without the use of the blockchain.
