metal seed phrase wallets

never store your seed phrase in a computer, phone, photo, or any digital interface. even for your hot wallet! use a method like this if you don’t want to trust in a piece of paper.

expensive and convenient (no hammering or engraving required)
- Billfodl, seems to be the highest quality ($100)
- KeyStone Metal Wallet ($60)
cheap and manual route
- more suitable for hot wallet seed phrases
- requires any metal engraver, I got a Dremel Rotary Tool ($24)
- steel wallet plates, currently 6 plates for $16

hardware wallet

Ledger Nano S Plus still seems like the easiest bet for the price, it’s compatible with Metamask, Phantom, Temple, and pretty much any browser extension wallet that exists (~$80)

the simplest narrative I have seen to explain tokens, nfts, and crypto:

web 1.0 was read-only
web 2.0 was read/write
web 3.0 is read/write/own

traditional web 2.0 platforms like reddit, twitter, facebook, and instagram own your friendships, messages, connections, ad views, and data. they provide use of their platform in return.

the next era of apps will use tokens to bootstrap new networks, giving users the ability to own their data and take it with them to whichever app or network best fits their needs. this is not possible without the use of the blockchain.
